In a previous post I announced that the members of PNA were participating in a 5K charity run for pancreatic cancer. It was a rare opportunity for our PNA family to join with the rest of our family to enjoy some time together.

The event was highlighted by the participation of a number of pancreatic cancer survivors and perfect weather for an outdoor activity.

There were many serious runners at the event. But, it is a charity event, so there were also a number of walkers.

And there were some who did both, run and walk.

And then there were some who ran and walked… and were carried!

READY!

This Saturday the kids are joining with tens of thousands of people in communities across America and running to end pancreatic cancer.

This PurpleStride event is one of over fifty events to raise awareness about the critical mission of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

These events contribute millions of dollars to advance research, support patients and create hope.

The funds raised through these events help provide personalized support for pancreatic cancer patients and support research grants and advocacy efforts to increase federal pancreatic cancer research funding.

So what joy and relief they had when they heard the words: Cancer Free!

Lately, Donna had been experiencing some lower back pain and so she had a CT scan and it revealed three lesions on her liver.
