There are some other things besides being a single grandparent raising two young children that you may not know about me, or our family:
…I have a full-time job in higher education that requires a lot of dedication from me, but I enjoy it. So, it takes more people than just me to manage our home and family.
…The kids have a part-time nanny, Conner, who comes and helps us three or four evenings during the week. She loves the kids and they love her. (You’ve probably seen her on this blog.)
…We have a housekeeper, Gwen, who comes once a week to clean the house (thank goodness, or it would never be cleaned).
…But I do almost all the housework (laundry, cooking, a lot of picking up, a little bit of house cleaning) except what Conner does when she’s here or what Gwen does when she’s here.
…I do all the grocery and clothes shopping myself (except Conner does some clothes purchases for the kids; if you think the kids are dressed cute in a picture, she probably picked out their clothing).
…We live in a house in a rural area on a little over an acre and I do all the yard work myself (and I’ve got the yard looking pretty good this year).
…I read a lot and write a lot. I write this blog and another blog, Steve’s Bible Meditations. And I’m always writing on a book, but not very often finishing writing a book.
…A good night’s sleep for me is six hours, but I usually don’t get a good night’s sleep.
Some people think I’m in over my head.
I don’t think so, but I’ll let you be the judge of that…
